American depositary receipt program

American depository receipts (ADRs) are stocks that trade in the United States but represent a specified number of shares in a foreign corporation. Through our ADR program, foreign investors are able to buy and sell AMP shares on American markets.

AMP's ADR program is sponsored by Deutsche Bank who performs the following roles:

  • issuing and cancelling AMP Limited ADRs
  • recording and maintaining the register of ADR holders
  • stock transfer agent
  • distributing dividends in US dollars (if applicable)
  • facilitating the proxy voting process and exercising the voting rights on behalf of ADR holders (if applicable)
  • distributing company announcements and annual general meeting documentation (if applicable)

For those holders which are not registered because their shares are held through a nominee account, your nominee will receive company documents from time to time from Deutsche Bank to distribute to you. You need to make arrangements with your nominee if you wish to receive such documents and be able to exercise your vote through the depositary bank at general meetings.
